Due to the long list of accidents we have seen lately (most of which could easily have been avoided), all scholars are to follow these rules to the letter.
1. Use bristleback brushes to remove any but the finest of dirt. Fine dirt and dust is to be removed using a rat-hair brush or preferably a velk-hair brush.
2. Use Mazte to remove Dwemer grease. Only Mazte, never Sujamma, and certainly not Flin. Keep the Mazte away from flame at all times.
3. Wipe off the excess Mazte with a piece of cloth. DO NOT drink the used Mazte.
4. Make a facsimile of any Dwemeri scripture you found on the artifact.
5. Please consult the Dean of the Imperial Archeological Society before attempting any magical manipulation of the artifact. All aproved magical manipulation shall be performed by a member of the Guild of Mages.
6. Catalogue all your findings. Do not forget to make a copy for the archive.
